Put it in a Glass

Put it in a Glass
I played into absurdity with this displacement piece. I used a Chinese porcelain doll and a banana peel coupled with a broken Turkish Cini plate in my pictures. The porcelain doll holds the immovable etiquette of Chinese culture behind it. It was used as decor in Chinese homes throughout history. Placing this proper porcelain doll smack in the middle of Downtown Houston, I played with the expectations of finding it around the elegant and orderly setting of the Chinese home, perhaps as a mantlepiece. The expectations are brought to a high when I couple the doll and Turkish Cini with the peels of an eaten banana
