Bauxite

i heard that bauxite is hard to crush

but not replicate

𝘪 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘮

𝘳𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦

I've seen a crystalline beyond compare

an interior of glistening stalactite formations

𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥

𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘬𝘺-𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘰𝘥'𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥

the one gated by a surface with ungainly crevices

still I've known others

marbles like a mirror

for you to look to,

as of a looking glass to fall through,

back into yourself

that is, a perfected version of that

whether serpent or sphere I can never tell

when your myriad shadings of light slither into my bones

and i feel no inside

no source, a self

you feed on the crystalline in its innocent form!

bauxite lets this happen,

upon seeing aluminum

it fawns,

offers itself as pawn

not knowing,

not knowing its own interior atrium of marble,

it pays dues to the mirror with an arched head

You eat each other, you eat each other whole

aggregating over the flesh of this concrete land,

nobody wins,

nobody wins at all.
