A Rabid Hole

I fell down a rabid hole out of the patriarchy,

or did I mean parsley?

upon landing, the only word they could pull out of my trembling body was "patriarchy"

and patriarchy they repeated, but they didn't say it right

it's like they didn't know what it meant

what did it mean?

I forgot as soon as I saw them laughing

indignant, I repeated, patriarchy,

seeing their faces, I let out a snicker

and we all burst out laughing

saying patriarchy,

parahey, parsley

a momentary joke, it disappeared like the wind as I forgot where it had come from and what I had known

because it was never a fucking reality,

rather, a poison, your religion

And I've seen 'em around

a price for your god's head

whether alive,

or dead
