The Water Tower

i climbed the water tower in Meyerland at dawn while you were asleep
i did not plan this, it just happened.
one step up the rusty ladder became two and suddenly i found myself out of
view
the temperature dropped, and i brought out my bobby pin
because my hair is long now, and so i wear pins
pins
i used it to unlock the door and found myself in darkness
but i could hear the water
i knew it was there
and i knew what i must do
splash-
dive in,
my locks lost gravity
and i felt this wind, wind
the deeper i dove, i saw some lights to coves
a door to my home, a door to your room
i saw you sleeping and i knocked
but though sound travels fast over the water,
i was under
and muffled muffled knocks
you did not hear me i used the last of my breath to streak your name
woke in a jolt, unfastened your door's bolt
so now i am lying in your bed, and smell like led
and we don't know what to do
we don't know what to do
a question!
it's for you,
when did this tale turn to fiction from true?
